Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents when necessary.

• Construct retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using authorized information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Create and oversee APIs, including API gateways, authentication protocols, rate limiting, and version control.

• Facilitate voice AI development through speech recognition, large language models, and text-to-speech functionalities in both English and Spanish.

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and safety measures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.

• Deliver and maintain solutions via CI/CD processes, monitoring, and thorough documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, customer experience design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Proficient in Python with a good understanding of Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Background in building an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in creating a RAG pipeline, including document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Knowledge of building and utilizing REST APIs, including authentication, rate limiting, and versioning, along with some exposure to API gateways.

• Ability to connect systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating applications with CRMs or databases.

• Understanding of machine learning principles, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Located in Colombia or Mexico.

• Strong foundational knowledge and relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience are encouraged.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, familiarity with MCP or integration platforms, CRM and contact center APIs, LLM evaluation tools, and cloud AI or technical certifications.
