Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents as necessary.

• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using authorized information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and oversee APIs, covering aspects like API gateways, authentication, rate limiting, and versioning.

• Assist in the development of voice agents by employing speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech technologies in both English and Spanish.

• Implement evaluations, automated testing, and safety measures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.

• Deploy and sustain solutions through CI/CD practices, monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, customer experience design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Strong Python programming skills and a good understanding of Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Background in building an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, utilizing frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in creating a RAG pipeline, covering document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Proficiency in developing and using REST APIs, including aspects like authentication, rate limiting, and versioning, with some exposure to API gateways.

• Experience in connecting systems through webhooks, SDKs, or message queues.

• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics such as precision and recall.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Residing in Colombia or Mexico.

• Solid foundational knowledge and relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience will be considered.
