Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents when necessary

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using sanctioned information sources

• Connect AI agents with CRMs, ticketing platforms, databases, and messaging services

• Design and oversee APIs, including API gateways, authentication processes, rate limits, and version management

• Assist in voice AI development by implementing speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech capabilities in both English and Spanish

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and guardrails to enhance accuracy, reliability, and safety

• Implement and sustain solutions through CI/CD practices, monitoring, and documentation

• Collaborate with engineering, customer experience design, and operations teams to transition prototypes into production-ready applications

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering; relevant internships and research experiences are considered

• Proficient in Python with a good understanding of Git, Docker, and basic SQL

• Experience with at least one cloud service provider: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud

• Practical experience using an LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI

• Proven experience in developing an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, utilizing frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel

• Experience in constructing a RAG pipeline, which includes document chunking, embeddings, vector searches, and retrieval tuning

• Familiarity with building and utilizing REST APIs, covering authentication, rate limits, and versioning, along with some exposure to API gateways

• Experience in linking systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating applications with CRMs or databases

• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall

• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish

• Residing in Colombia or Mexico

• Strong foundational knowledge along with relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience is encouraged

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, such as Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat

• Nice to have: familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Azure Logic Apps, or n8n

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs, including Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk

• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools such as Langfuse or Ragas

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical certifications
