Java Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, create, test, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java applications.

• Develop scalable REST APIs and backend microservices utilizing Java Spring Boot.

• Create and develop full-stack web applications using contemporary front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or similar).

• Evaluate legacy applications (Java, C/C++, COBOL, Pro*C, Oracle, or similar) and assist with modernization initiatives.

• Build data access layers with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and JDBC.

• Employ direct SQL/JDBC when performance or flexibility necessitates.

• Architect scalable, maintainable, and secure application frameworks.

• Create intricate SQL queries, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and batch processing solutions.

• Enhance performance of Oracle (or other relational databases).

• Formulate efficient database access patterns using JPA/Hibernate and JDBC.

• Conduct query optimization and performance tuning.

• Develop enterprise microservices with Spring Boot.

• Construct cloud-native applications deployed in Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift environments.

• Design and utilize RESTful APIs.

• Engage in enterprise integration and distributed systems development.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Create automated unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

• Take part in code and architecture reviews.

• Leverage SonarQube and static code analysis tools.

• Investigate production issues through application logs, debugging, and root cause analysis.

• Continuously enhance application quality, maintainability, scalability, and security.

• Establish and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, Git, or similar tools.

• Assist in production deployments and release processes.

• Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.

• Own features from design through post-production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 5 years of experience in enterprise Java application development.

• High proficiency with Java 17 or later.

• Extensive experience with: Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA.

• Strong understanding of: Hibernate, JPA, Entity relationships, Lazy/Eager loading, Transaction management.

• Significant JDBC experience, including: Complex SQL, Batch processing, Performance optimization.

• Strong experience with Oracle or other relational databases.

• Proficient in developing RESTful APIs.

• Experience building enterprise microservices.

• Familiarity with Maven, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in writing automated unit/integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

• Skilled in troubleshooting production issues and debugging enterprise applications.

• Strong grasp of: Object-Oriented Design, Design Patterns, Clean Coding Principles.

• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• U.S. Citizenship (required by contract).
