This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex software defects and production challenges.
• Provide support for enhancements and ongoing maintenance of legacy enterprise applications.
• Design and implement RESTful and SOAP-based services and integrations.
• Develop and maintain contemporary backend services utilizing Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with architects and senior developers on modernization projects.
• Create and optimize SQL queries and manage database integrations.
• Engage in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD practices, and application deployments.
• Operate independently and collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Adhere to standard business hours from Monday to Friday, with occasional extended hours or weekend shifts as required by operational demands.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of professional software development experience.
• Over 5 years of Java development experience in microservices architecture for enterprise production solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience with the Spring Framework and/or Spring Boot.
• More than 5 years of experience in developing REST APIs and web services.
• Experience with Oracle or other relational database systems.
• Proficient in using Git-based source control.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities and analytical skills.
• Preferred: Experience in administration or deployment of WebLogic application servers.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, or other enterprise Java technologies.
• Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Preferred: Background in supporting federal government or VA programs.
• Preferred: Experience using Jira and Confluence.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Must have a reliable internet connection that enables effective telecommuting.
