This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Engage in the complete software development life cycle, encompassing requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Create and implement robust, scalable, and secure web applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, client support teams, designers, and fellow developers to deliver effective software solutions.
• Keep abreast of web development and technological trends, continually enhancing development processes and methodologies.
• Conduct code reviews and apply enhancements for improved code quality and maintainability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues promptly.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security protocols, and performance benchmarks.
• Lead initiatives in software architecture and design.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain high-volume, low-latency applications.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience specializing in Java.
• Experience in writing multithreaded Java applications within Linux environments.
• Proficient in web services, RESTful APIs, and message queuing.
• Skilled in developing, deploying, and testing containerized software utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in building and deploying software on AWS or Azure platforms.
• Strong object-oriented design capabilities, programming skills, design patterns, and enterprise integration processes.
• Expertise in optimizing SQL Server databases, crafting complex SQL queries, and designing efficient database schemas.
• Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to take charge of software architecture and design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools, branching techniques, and deployment processes.
• Development experience with HTTP, TCP/UDP, SNMP, and Java NIO.
• Experience in tuning the Java garbage collector and troubleshooting Java memory leaks.
• Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with WebLogic and/or WildFly.
• Experience in the telecommunications sector is a plus.
• Exposure to Spring Boot and Gradle is advantageous.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is an added benefit.
• Experience in building applications utilizing machine learning libraries is a plus.
