Java Back End Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• We are seeking an API & Microservices Developer who possesses a solid foundation in backend development and a keen interest in creating scalable services using microservices principles.

• Contribute to the design, development, and upkeep of RESTful APIs while adhering to industry best practices.

• Aid in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of microservices.

• Facilitate the integration of applications through internal and external APIs with support from senior developers.

• Assist in the integration of external frontends (such as DigiPro) with backend systems, including legacy systems written in COBOL.

• Collaborate in environments utilizing enterprise middleware (WebLogic) and gain experience in version migrations (for example, v14).

• Acquire knowledge and assist in connectivity using technologies like Tuxedo connectors.

• Work alongside frontend, QA, DevOps, and software architecture teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in backend development: Java / Spring Boot

• Familiarity with REST API development.

• Understanding of microservices architecture.

• Proficient in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server).

• Experience with Git version control.

• Basic understanding of API security concepts (OAuth2, JWT).

• Exposure to WebLogic or other enterprise application servers.

• Fundamental knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with legacy systems or integration concepts (experience with COBOL is a plus).

• Nice to have: Basic knowledge of Docker.

• Experience with static code analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube).

• Familiarity with security scanning tools (e.g., Veracode, Black Duck).

• Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.

• Ability to understand existing or external codebases.
