Japanese Corporate & M&A Lawyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Analyze AI-generated answers related to Japanese corporate and commercial law.

• Assess legal reasoning in matters of M&A, transactions, governance, and similar corporate issues.

• Detect significant legal errors, omissions, unsupported conclusions, and misleading arguments.

• Compare similar legal queries across two different AI platforms.

• Evaluate responses using a standardized assessment rubric.

• Deliver concise written justifications and expert feedback for each assessment.

• Review transaction structures, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and deal execution processes.

• Leverage practical transactional experience in complex legal situations.

• Operate independently while adhering to structured rubrics, deadlines, and project quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be qualified to practice law in Japan.

• Minimum of 2 years of law firm experience; 3+ years is preferred.

• Significant professional experience in corporate law, M&A, or transactional law.

• Primary professional experience should be within a reputable law firm.

• Candidates currently employed in-house may be considered if they transitioned from law firm practice within approximately the last two years.

• Strong knowledge of Japanese corporate and commercial law is essential.

• Native or fluent proficiency in Japanese is required.

• Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to articulate legal reasoning clearly.

• High attention to legal accuracy, analytical consistency, and detail.

• Ability to work independently while following structured rubrics and deadlines.

• Experience in reviewing complex legal research or detailed legal analyses is highly regarded.

• Must adhere to confidentiality and NDA requirements.

• Prohibited from using confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, law firm, institution, or any other third party.
