IT/MDM QA Consultant, Part-Time Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess existing QA procedures for internal Mac tools and pinpoint gaps and absent practices.

• Conduct audits on the packaging, deployment, installation, and management of PKGs throughout the managed Mac fleet.

• Identify deployment risks, fragility, and rollback deficiencies.

• Review privacy permissions, PPPC profiles, and TCC prompts for video conferencing and student monitoring applications.

• Test the student experience rigorously during tool deployment, updates, and failures on managed Macs.

• Detect issues related to student-facing experiences and unprofessional conduct.

• Offer direct, practical feedback to engineering and IT teams.

• Clearly document findings for subsequent action.

• Suggest tools, methodologies, and standards for consistent software delivery and fleet management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in managed Mac environments utilizing Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, Intune, or comparable systems.

• Familiarity with managed PKG installation, signing, notarization, and Mac software packaging for controlled deployment.

• Knowledge in configuring privacy permissions, deploying PPPC profiles, and resolving TCC issues on managed Macs.

• Experience in shipping, deploying, or QAing software similar to Zoom, GoGuardian, Jamf School, Classroom, or other comparable video conferencing and student monitoring solutions.

• Capability to evaluate QA processes and swiftly identify missing components.

• Proficient in drafting actionable findings for engineering teams and engaging with technical stakeholders.

• Fully remote work environment.

• Apple certifications such as ACSP, ACMT, or Apple Deployment and Management certifications are advantageous.

• Familiarity with shell, Python, or Swift for automating MDM and deployment tasks is a plus.

• Understanding of student data privacy, FERPA, and compliance in student device management is an added advantage.
