IT Operations & Security Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance Zen Educate’s educational staffing platform that connects teachers, schools, and internal operations teams.

• Collaborate in small, agile, mission-driven teams aimed at achieving tangible results.

• Define challenges and partner with Product Managers, Designers, Product, and Operations teams.

• Implement iterative enhancements and deploy updates regularly.

• Create and sustain platform functionalities utilizing Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native.

• Assist with AI-related projects, including teacher qualification initiatives, AI knowledge repositories, and bug resolution.

• Revamp permissions systems, establish audit trails, and design administrative interfaces.

• Generate product analytics events using Mixpanel.

• Upgrade the React Native application and the Expo SDK.

• Enhance database anonymization and improve internal development tools.

• Monitor DevEx metrics such as CI success rates and deployment frequency.

• Mitigate vulnerabilities identified through red-team assessments.

• Suggest and spearhead initiatives that drive business forward.

• Engage in onboarding, interviews, feedback, and internal review processes.

• Capability to work remotely within the CT/ET time zone.

• Excellent communication skills and effective asynchronous work habits.

• Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and initiative.

• Proficiency in quickly building relationships and taking full ownership of problems.

• Strong product-focused mindset with an ability to define challenges rather than merely fulfill tasks.

• Technical skills validated through a paired coding exercise.

• Ability to ask insightful questions, collaborate with fellow engineers, and tackle ambiguous issues in the codebase.

• Capability to discuss demonstrated product-oriented thinking.

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, React Native, Heroku, and Cloudflare is pertinent to this position.

• Willingness to meet in person with at least one team member during the offer phase.
