This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the IT Engineering department as a player-coach, effectively balancing hands-on tasks with leadership, prioritization, and operational discipline.
• Take responsibility for IT support performance, managing queue health, routing, service levels, and project execution for a distributed workforce.
• Manage identity and SaaS lifecycle processes across Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and Atlassian, emphasizing low-touch onboarding and offboarding through SCIM and scripting.
• Oversee the company’s macOS-focused endpoint fleet utilizing Iru or similar MDM tools, ensuring secure device posture and compliance standards are maintained.
• Spearhead the IT components of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness, including evidence collection, access reviews, control testing, and collaboration on shared controls with the Security Engineering team.
• Lead the internal enablement of AI tools for employees, including support for Claude Cowork, management of the organizational skills library, and implementation of MCP servers with sustainable operating controls.
• Oversee SaaS renewals, access policies, and the IT budget to enhance cost efficiency and tool effectiveness.
• Ensure that policies, runbooks, and operational documentation are comprehensive, up-to-date, and practical, allowing the function to scale consistently and remain audit-ready.
• Achieve clear first-year outcomes, including SLO attainment on response and resolution, minimized manual lifecycle tasks, widespread Cowork skill adoption, four internal MCP server deployments, and successful SOC 2 / ISO audit cycles with no IT issues.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT or IT engineering, encompassing hands-on work in identity, endpoint management, and SaaS administration.
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams, whether formally or informally, including mentoring, coordinating tasks, and enhancing operational standards within a small team.
• Practical experience with Okta or similar identity management platforms, such as Entra or JumpCloud.
• Proven ability in managing macOS fleets with Iru, Jamf, Kandji, or other comparable MDM tools.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, and Atlassian administration.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or Zsh, showcasing a history of building automation rather than solely depending on admin-console operations.
• Understanding of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 IT controls.
• Excellent written communication skills and ability to thrive in a highly distributed, documentation-centric environment.
• Regular use of AI tools in practical applications, with clear examples of workflows, scripts, skills, or tools you have effectively built or adopted.
