Senior Commercial Credit Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate credit applications up to designated limits and suggest acceptable applications that need higher-level approval.

• Ensure that approved applications fall within the credit union's risk tolerance and are structured properly to reduce the risk of default and loss.

• Identify feasible alternatives or modifications to security, terms, and conditions to enhance loan growth while mitigating the risk of default.

• Provide timely and consistent decisions with clear communication and rationale for any changes made.

• Stay updated on macro-economic trends, regional influences, and industry-specific developments.

• Review and propose amendments to lending policies and guidelines to keep lending practices prudent, competitive, and aligned with corporate objectives and strategies.

• Offer guidance and direction to member-facing staff in analyzing, structuring, and negotiating credit applications and related documentation.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve mutual goals.

• Participate in industry events and assist with special projects or training initiatives as opportunities arise.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in commercial/agricultural lending, with a preference for 10+ years, showcasing skills in financial analysis, accounting, risk assessment, and developing innovative financing proposals.

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of lending procedures and practices, security documentation, and legal implications.

• Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
