This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies specifically designed for the distinct challenges present in Operational Technology environments, with an emphasis on safeguarding critical assets, ensuring system availability, and preventing unauthorized access.
• Remain informed about pertinent regulations and standards, particularly NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards, ensuring that the organization’s systems, processes, and procedures adhere to compliance requirements.
• Design, assess, and enhance network architectures for both IT and OT environments, integrating security measures to thwart unauthorized intrusions, data breaches, and various cyber threats.
• Perform detailed risk assessments to pinpoint vulnerabilities and potential threats within the OT landscape, translating findings into actionable security recommendations and solutions.
• Spearhead the implementation of advanced security solutions, such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, access controls, and encryption mechanisms, to protect critical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, engineering, and compliance, to ensure cybersecurity initiatives are in alignment with business objectives, operational requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Create and uphold robust incident response plans tailored for OT environments, coordinating with incident response teams to guarantee a prompt and effective reaction to security incidents.
• Promote awareness and deliver training to employees, contractors, and partners regarding OT cybersecurity best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Assess the security posture of third-party vendors and partners, ensuring their solutions and services comply with cybersecurity standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• At least 7-10 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, focusing on OT environments, compliance, NERC CIP standards, and network design.
• Extensive knowledge of NERC CIP requirements and their practical implementation in the energy and utility sectors.
• Strong proficiency in designing and deploying security solutions within complex OT environments, particularly in the renewables industry.
• Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, architecture, and segmentation strategies.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or relevant vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Cisco CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE) are preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with security frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISA/IEC 62443, or ISO 27001.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
