Interpreter, English/Chuukese – Contract (OPI & VRI)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide interpretation services via phone and video in both English and Chuukese.

• Facilitate effective communication for individuals in need of interpretation assistance.

• Ensure interpretation is reliable, unbiased, empathetic, courteous, accurate, and conducted in a professional manner.

• Complete onboarding assessments along with a simulated interpretation session.

• Uphold confidentiality standards and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both English and Chuukese.

• Commitment to providing courteous, accurate, and professional interpretation services.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Successful completion of an English proficiency test with a “technical proficiency” rating (level 3 or higher on the ILR scale).

• Ability to pass an online assessment on medical terminology, including medical terms, anatomy, and physiology.

• Successfully complete a live mock interpretation evaluation.

• Undergo a background check and security screening.

• Sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and a confidentiality commitment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA.

• Submit a resume for consideration.

• Provide certifications that demonstrate language proficiency or relevant experience.

• Mid-level experience preferred.

• Previous experience in Over-the-Phone and Video-Remote Interpretation (OPI & VRI) is advantageous but not mandatory.
