• Design, develop, and maintain software, libraries, and tools that empower product teams to efficiently create high-quality, globally-ready software in accordance with SAS Internationalization guidelines and standards.
• Thoughtfully and responsibly implement Agentic and Generative AI to create AI-driven internationalization solutions for use across product teams.
• Emphasize developer tooling, automation, analysis, and guidance to enhance quality, consistency, and scalability.
• Ensure accuracy, explainability, and compliance with Unicode and CLDR standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including product development teams, product managers, project managers, support engineers, and testers—to embed internationalization best practices from the outset and throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Work alongside internationalization testers to shape testing strategies, investigate defects, and promote engineering enhancements that yield high-quality, globally usable product outputs.
• Learn, implement, and disseminate internationalization fundamentals and best practices across engineering and product teams through technical guidance, documentation, training, and hands-on collaboration.
• Over 5 years of experience as a software developer, with practical experience in applying internationalization best practices and utilizing industry-standard libraries such as ICU and CLDR.
• Proven experience in leveraging Agentic and Generative AI to develop or enhance reliable software solutions, with an understanding of suitable validation and human-in-the-loop methodologies.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Go, Python, and C, along with the capability to read, comprehend, and contribute to production codebases.
• Working proficiency in shell scripting (e.g., Bash or similar) to aid automation, tooling, or development workflows.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with the proficiency to work effectively across cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and product stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience using GitHub in a team environment, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code review processes.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence as part of an Agile development process, covering issue tracking, planning, and documentation.
• Reside in the Eastern or Central Time Zone (US) and possess the flexibility to adjust working hours to accommodate various time zones.
