On-Demand Freelance Translator, English to Spanish

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and enhance machine-translated content from English (US) to Spanish (US)

• Increase the accuracy, fluency, and overall quality of machine translation

• Ensure that the final text flows naturally, as if it were originally crafted by a native speaker

• Provide high-quality deliverables within tight deadlines

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, or an equivalent qualification that includes substantial translation training from an accredited higher education institution; alternatively, a degree in any other field from an accredited institution along with the equivalent of two years of full-time professional translation experience; or five years of equivalent full-time professional translation experience.

• Bilingual proficiency in English (US) and Spanish (US), with a preference for native Spanish speakers

• Strong skills in localization and a deep understanding of the cultural nuances of both the source and target languages

• Experience with medical terminology in the US market, particularly in patient-facing content such as Advance Directive (AVS)

• Background in post-editing machine translation (MT) and/or localization

• Familiarity with machine translation (MT) and large language model (LLM) technologies

• Proficiency in computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, particularly memoQ
