This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Participate in the development, enhancement, and upkeep of Java-based components and React-based interfaces.
• Engage in hands-on coding, testing, debugging, and analytical problem-solving for WinAir web products.
• Work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams to implement and sustain business and software solutions.
• Articulate API concepts and supply API implementation documentation.
• Design and develop applications utilizing Java and React.
• Produce clean, reusable code in adherence to corporate standards and requirements documentation.
• Contribute to product design during collaborative design and scoping sessions.
• Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback.
• Analyze requirements documentation and provide insights on project alignment.
• Assist in identifying and resolving design challenges.
• Pursue ongoing technical learning and professional development.
• Offer technical support to junior developers.
• Suggest innovative solutions to development obstacles.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned to support product development.
• Minimum College Diploma in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in web application development or software development.
• Experience with partial to full remote work is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Cursor for code generation, refactoring, test scaffolding, and debugging.
• Good judgment regarding when to depend on generated output versus writing code manually.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming and modular programming.
• Experience with JavaScript, Java 25 framework, JSP, JSTL, Vue.js, Tomcat, Ajax, CSS, Struts 2, Hibernate, JDBC, MS SQL Server, Jasper, and iReport.
• Experience in building modern, component-based front-end interfaces with React.
• Knowledge of designing and maintaining REST APIs, including API documentation and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of API security standards and best practices.
• Experience in developing and maintaining unit tests for a large, interconnected codebase is preferred.
• Familiarity with user experience issues, Internet design principles, and accessibility standards.
• Experience in SQL and SQL Server Management Studio for problem-solving.
• Must reside in Ontario, Canada.
