Interior Designer – Residential Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create floor plans and elevations in AutoCAD utilizing measurements, references, mood boards, and discussions with the studio director.

• Suggest alternative layouts and articulate their benefits, limitations, and trade-offs.

• Design spaces tailored to the habits and requirements of each family.

• Assess circulation, storage, equipment, and daily usage of each room.

• Formulate proposals for kitchens, bathrooms, and furniture, taking into account dimensions, functionality, and accessibility.

• Translate visual references into tangible design solutions.

• Review available measurements and information prior to proceeding.

• Identify any missing data or measurements and compile questions to enhance efficiency.

• Offer solutions to project inconsistencies or limitations.

• Clearly and systematically communicate progress, inquiries, and decisions.

• Adhere to agreed deadlines for each project.

• Collaborate closely with the studio director by interpreting her creative vision and crafting functional proposals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing residential interior design projects, including homes, apartments, and renovations.

• Proficient in AutoCAD for creating floor plans and elevations.

• A portfolio showcasing residential projects that includes drawings and examples of functional design decisions, alongside images or renders of the final results.

• Capability to interpret creative direction and independently develop it.

• Design judgment to assess solutions, recognize improvement opportunities, and propose alternatives.

• Ability to comprehend client needs and translate them into practical design decisions.

• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with the studio director.

• High attention to detail and precision in drawing development.

• Experience in designing kitchens, bathrooms, and custom furniture (a plus).

• Knowledge of ergonomics and accessibility applied to residential design (a plus).

• Experience with renovations and adapting existing spaces (a plus).

• Proficiency in 3D modeling and/or rendering tools (a plus).

• Experience working remotely with architecture or interior design studios (a plus).

• Familiarity with materials, equipment, and construction solutions for residential projects (a plus).
