This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the establishment of project objectives through Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
• Assess client requirements and document design goals and spatial needs, with an emphasis on furniture planning and design.
• Investigate, assess, and coordinate furniture, fixtures, and equipment throughout the interior design process.
• Collaborate on design efforts, ensuring adherence to standards and code compliance, both within the team and with architects, engineers, and consultants.
• Create interior-space designs centered on furniture, including layout plans, pattern designs, elevations, details, and room finishes.
• Evaluate and select materials independently while consulting with vendors.
• Generate drawings within the constraints of project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Aid in project planning and the development of work plans/budgets.
• Facilitate and lead client meetings.
• Guide and mentor junior interior design staff.
• Assist in or lead lessons-learned sessions.
• Uphold CannonDesign drawing standards.
• Engage in construction administration, which includes site visits, reviews of submittals and shop drawings, and managing punch lists.
• Participate in and advocate for design leadership within the organization.
• Contribute to marketing initiatives as needed.
• Execute other responsibilities as required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field is required.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Preference for candidates with significant experience in furniture planning, specification, and procurement.
• A strong portfolio showcasing furniture/interior design planning, specification, and implementation experience is preferred.
• Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
• Must have a design-oriented mindset.
• Must be a self-sufficient thinker.
• Must possess strong analytical skills.
• Should have a working knowledge and experience while still pursuing advanced knowledge.
• A robust creative design portfolio is essential.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
