Integration Solutions Architect, Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Ensure smooth financial and data integrations between BuildOps and clients’ accounting systems, emphasizing precision, data integrity, and long-term scalability.

• Take ownership of the accounting integration process, including discovery, design, configuration, testing, and validation.

• Collaborate with Implementation, Product/Engineering, and clients’ finance teams.

• Facilitate structured discovery sessions with customer finance and accounting teams to comprehend GL structure, entities, dimensions/classes, and reporting requirements.

• Document current accounting setups and integration workflows, noting limitations, dependencies, and custom mapping needs.

• Define field mappings, sync direction, and integration logic between BuildOps and various accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Vista, Spectrum).

• Establish configuration standards for GL accounts, entities/departments, classes/dimensions, and tax regulations within BuildOps and the connected ERP.

• Develop and implement integration test plans for AP (bills/expenses), AR (invoices/credits), POs, payments, and associated workflows.

• Reconcile data between BuildOps and the accounting system, ensuring precise end-to-end financial outcomes prior to go-live.

• Serve as the trusted integration advisor to clients, recommending BuildOps and accounting best practices that cater to their current business needs while preparing for future scalability.

• Provide comprehensive integration documentation and transition to Customer Success and Support for stability post-go-live.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial operations, with substantial exposure to accounting systems/ERPs.

• 2+ years of experience in systems integrations, implementation, or technical consulting within a SaaS/ERP or similar environment.

• Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort with structured data (CSVs, mapping templates, etc.).

• Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between accounting, operational, and technical stakeholders.

• Controller-level accounting experience is highly preferred (former Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader).

• In-depth understanding of AP, AR, POs, jobs/projects, entities/locations, and revenue recognition principles.

• Hands-on experience with at least one mid-market accounting platform (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Viewpoint Vista, Spectrum); experience with multiple platforms is advantageous.

• Previous experience in designing, supporting, or managing system integrations between operational and financial platforms (iPaaS, custom integrations, or native connectors).
