Integration Engineer, Amazon Connect REST API

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create and maintain RESTful APIs to facilitate frontend and backend integrations.

• Develop and oversee Python-based AWS Lambda functions for serverless workflows.

• Set up and manage Amazon Connect contact flows, routing logic, and queue behavior.

• Design and enhance DynamoDB schemas, indexes, and scalable data models.

• Utilize AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and CloudWatch.

• Collaborate with UI teams to ensure smooth integration between frontend applications and backend systems.

• Manage infrastructure through Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Support scalable cloud-native architectures and event-driven systems.

• Partner with Amazon Professional Services and internal engineering teams on significant initiatives.

• Diagnose production issues and assist with deployments as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in AWS cloud development and serverless architectures.

• Proficient in Python, particularly in AWS Lambda development.

• Experience with Amazon Connect and contact flow configurations.

• Strong knowledge of DynamoDB, including schema design, indexing, and scaling strategies.

• Experienced in building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB.

• Proficient in Terraform for managing infrastructure.

• Understanding of event-driven and microservices architectures.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.

• Nice to Have: Experience in the contact center or telephony domain, understanding of IVR systems, call routing, or SIP concepts, AWS certifications (Associate or Professional level), experience with CloudFormation/CDK and transitioning to Terraform, exposure to IBM ODM integrations, and experience supporting production AWS environments.
