Integration Analyst – Healthcare

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, configure, and support HL7 and FHIR interfaces that connect healthcare applications with EMR and clinical information systems.

• Analyze data models from both source and target systems and create detailed mapping and transformation logic for clinical and treatment data.

• Create and manage interface engine configurations utilizing platforms such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Corepoint, or other similar technologies.

• Diagnose interface failures, malformed messages, acknowledgment errors, mapping issues, and data integrity concerns by tracing transactions throughout the entire integration path.

• Produce and maintain interface specifications, data mapping documentation, test plans, and technical runbooks.

• Provide support for integration services operating in AWS and containerized environments, such as Kubernetes and Docker, while monitoring logs, metrics, and system health.

• Plan and carry out unit, integration, and user-acceptance testing to ensure data accuracy and system functionality prior to production deployment.

• Collaborate closely with hospital and healthcare IT teams, implementation teams, software engineers, product teams, and third-party integration resources during customer onboarding and go-live processes.

• Develop reusable integration templates, mapping standards, and implementation practices to enhance the consistency and efficiency of future customer integrations.

• Support clinical data integrations while ensuring the proper handling of protected health information (PHI) and compliance with healthcare regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in healthcare interface or integration engineering, preferably in EMR, oncology, imaging, or other clinical technology settings.

• Strong understanding of HL7 v2.x messaging, including ADT, ORM, ORU, and SIU messages.

• Familiarity with HL7 v3/CDA, FHIR R4, and RESTful APIs.

• Hands-on experience in building or supporting integrations with major EMR platforms, especially Epic; experience with Cerner or similar systems is also beneficial.

• Experience with healthcare interface engines like Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Corepoint, or other comparable platforms.

• Solid experience in clinical data mapping and transformation across various systems, including coded values, units, identifiers, and other healthcare data elements.

• Working knowledge of AWS and containerized environments, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to read logs, trace messages end-to-end, and identify root causes across multiple systems and teams.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript is preferred.

• Familiarity with DICOM and healthcare imaging workflows is preferred.

• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies is preferred.

• Experience in oncology, radiation oncology, treatment planning, or clinical workflow systems is highly preferred.

• HL7, FHIR, AWS, or other relevant technical certifications are a plus.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.

• Ability to work during core U.S. business hours, with occasional early or late meetings to collaborate with international engineering teams.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% to customer locations.
