This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +22 more states.
β’ Manage an inventory of both litigated and non-litigated files independently.
β’ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys.
β’ Utilize independent analysis and judgment to prepare discovery materials, legal pleadings, trial briefs, and more, in close collaboration with claims specialists.
β’ Represent and advocate for CSAA IG and our member insureds.
β’ Oversee all stages of personal injury litigation, including jury trials, motions, and arbitration hearings.
β’ Handle complex legal issues or projects, including those not currently in litigation.
β’ Identify significant issues with major implications, high liability exposure, special circumstances, and/or deviations from guidelines.
β’ Refer matters to higher-level staff for review and potential allocation of additional resources.
β’ 5-8+ years of experience in insurance defense practice, with courtroom and first or second chair trial experience.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with assigned paralegal(s) and support staff.
β’ Juris Doctor degree required.
β’ Must possess a license to practice law in California.
β’ Expertise in personal injury litigation, including liability assessment, causation, damages, coverage, and the tri-partite relationship.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on organization and timeliness.
β’ Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and online research tools.
β’ Ability to advocate in a creative, persuasive, and effective manner.
β’ Capacity to think and act independently in the best interest of the client.
β’ Knowledge and appreciation of legal ethics.
