Insurance Defense Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Prepare, evaluate, and submit legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and motions.

• Aid in the preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

• Collect, assess, and summarize medical records, accident reports, and other documents pertinent to cases.

• Organize and maintain case files, discovery databases, and document productions.

• Oversee attorney schedules and arrange depositions.

• Liaise with clients, witnesses, and experts.

• Perform necessary legal and factual research.

• Keep track of court deadlines and ensure adherence to filing requirements in New Jersey State and Federal courts.

• Provide general administrative assistance to attorneys.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in legal studies and/or a paralegal certificate is required.

• At least 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.

• Experience in insurance defense is preferred.

• Strong understanding of the rules, procedures, and e-filing practices in New Jersey State courts.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Capable of prioritizing, multitasking, and meeting deadlines in a high-volume legal environment.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Must reside in New Jersey or New York.
