Insurance Defense Attorney – Florida PIP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Litigates cases of low complexity and exposure, handling tasks from intake through trial and/or settlement.

• This encompasses, but is not limited to, the preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.

• Attends hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials as required.

• Actively communicates with leadership about opportunities and challenges in case management.

• Consults with the Claims Department regarding the legal aspects of files.

• Undertakes additional tasks or duties to facilitate effective case management.

• May participate in second chair trials and manage trials in cases with minimal complexity and/or exposure.

• May assist senior attorneys in more complex cases and may receive developmental assignments for matters of moderate complexity and/or exposure.

• A bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Must be licensed to practice law in the applicable states upon hire.

• Experience in civil litigation and/or personal/bodily injury is preferred.

• Public speaking skills are essential.

• Ability to operate effectively in adversarial or confrontational situations.

• Valid driver's license is required.

• Strong verbal communication and listening skills are necessary.

• Excellent written communication skills are required.

• Effective negotiation skills are essential.

• Capability to represent the company to external constituents.

• Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making abilities.

• Proven time management and priority-setting skills.

• Possesses a strong technical aptitude.

• Proficient in utilizing technology to enhance efficiency in a virtual, paperless environment.
