Insurance Billing/Collection Assistant III – Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Conducts in-depth follow-up on insurance billing and collection processes.

• Initiates collection calls and ensures the accuracy and completeness of insurance records and claims.

• Engages with insurance companies and/or collection agencies to facilitate payment processes.

• Evaluates patient accounts for precision and correctness.

• Leverages Epic and payer websites for submission of claims and inquiries regarding status.

• Assists the customer service unit with billing and collection-related inquiries.

• Provides support in training new team members.

• May serve as Team Lead and contribute to special projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent certification, or a combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Billing or Insurance.

• Proficiencies in Claims Resolution, Collections Strategies, Computer Literacy, Confidential Data Handling, Epic EHR, Health Insurance Billing, HIPAA, ICD-10 Procedure Coding System, Insurance Follow Up, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Terminology, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Office Equipment, Team Leadership, and Telephone Communications.
