This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design and create multimedia learning courses for Niagara’s learning management system.
• Adhere to project deadlines as outlined in the department’s development calendar.
• Update project status following the department's project management protocols.
• Resolve issues with multimedia content created by less technically skilled members of the Training and Development team.
• Produce video and audio elements for educational materials.
• Edit images, audio, and video for instructional purposes.
• Manage and oversee departmental media repositories.
• Identify multimedia technology opportunities for both web-based and classroom instruction.
• Support curriculum design for instructor-led, online, and alternative learning formats.
• Create and write traditional and e-learning training content and resources.
• Keep up-to-date with Niagara’s LMS features, limitations, and course prerequisites.
• Educate staff on multimedia technology techniques and best practices.
• Develop learning solutions tailored for manufacturing personnel.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to guarantee content accuracy.
• Assess training program outcomes and adjust future programs accordingly.
• Produce and deliver training materials related to company processes, products, and technologies.
• Ensure that generated documents are precise and conform to formatting standards.
• Travel to Niagara facilities to work alongside curriculum designers, trainers, internal clients, and subject matter experts.
• Travel as necessary to visit Niagara vendors or clients.
• Manage web content and portals via SharePoint.
• Write newsletters, articles, and other periodic publications.
• Supervise selected Super User-level contributors in Niagara business processes.
• Offer leadership to adjacent work teams in the absence of their manager.
• Influence individuals throughout the organization without direct authority.
• At least 2 years of experience in the field or a comparable manufacturing environment.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the specific role.
• At least 2 years of experience in managing people/projects.
• Experience may encompass a combination of work experience and education.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in adult learning methodologies and pedagogy.
• Expertise in Articulate 360 Suite, Vyond, and Camtasia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, and Microsoft SharePoint.
• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (CS6), specifically InDesign, Flash Professional, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and Acrobat; comparable software is acceptable.
• Familiarity with creating and maintaining wikis.
• Proficient in manipulating and synchronizing audio files for e-learning purposes.
• Experience with and willingness to engage in voice-over work.
• Ability to interpret multimedia design requirements and develop innovative, responsive design concepts.
• Understanding of instructional design principles and LMS functionality for deploying e-learning courses.
• Capability to explain how to execute complex technical tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of taking initiative.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
