This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to pinpoint emerging research opportunities and analytical requirements.
• Create research concepts and briefs alongside analysts and data scientists.
• Convert complex technical findings into clear, accessible, and compelling narratives.
• Identify key findings, comparisons, and policy-relevant insights from new analyses.
• Oversee the development of analytical briefs, reports, commentaries, media notes, reactive statements, and other research outputs.
• Produce or coordinate clear charts, graphics, and other visual materials that enhance the communication of findings.
• Remain informed on developments in energy, climate, and air quality policy while contributing to analytical projects.
• Ensure outputs align with CREA's strategic objectives while upholding the highest standards of accuracy, credibility, and clarity.
• Collaborate with partner organizations to integrate technical, policy, and regional expertise, ensuring outputs reflect local contexts rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in research, policy analysis, journalism, consulting, or a similar analytical environment.
• Advanced education or equivalent professional experience in a relevant area, such as energy, environmental science, economics, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical topics clearly and accurately to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical skills with the capability to critically engage with quantitative evidence, data visualizations, and technical reports.
• Understanding of energy markets, electricity systems, fossil fuels, clean energy, or air quality, along with a willingness to broaden this knowledge base.
• Experience interacting with media, policymakers, civil society organizations, or international institutions.
• Proven track record of producing high-quality reports, policy briefs, articles, or other analytical publications.
