Inpatient Auditor – PRN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute scheduled quality assurance evaluations for both internal teams and external client organizations.

• Perform onboarding audits and provide training for newly recruited inpatient coders.

• Facilitate training sessions and offer educational feedback to coders, including those at client locations.

• Communicate quality concerns and audit results to management and client representatives.

• Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement action plans for coders.

• Maintain reports and accuracy metrics for coders and clients.

• Address client QA requirements and inquiries as directed by management.

• Provide educational sessions on error patterns to coders and client teams.

• Inform management of compliance issues or incidents.

• Exhibit knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations through the proper handling of patient information.

• Uphold confidentiality and discretion when managing patient data.

• Participate in educational conference calls and client meetings as necessary.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities related to the project.

• Meet the required productivity and quality benchmarks.

• Fulfill coding credential requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• The candidate must hold a recognized AHIMA coding credential.

• A minimum of 5 years of coding experience is recommended; 3 years of inpatient coding in an acute care environment is essential.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facilities is recommended.

• At least 4 years of auditing experience is preferred.

• Must demonstrate proficiency in ICD-10-PCS coding.

• Highly skilled inpatient auditor with the ability to switch between projects, work independently, and meet productivity and quality standards.

• Experience with Epic, Meditech, Cerner, 3M, and Trucode is preferred.
