Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Leads and engages in IT infrastructure initiatives, encompassing the design, deployment, and upkeep of server systems, cloud services, and virtualization platforms.

• Guarantees that projects are finalized on schedule and adhere to budget constraints.

• Manages the deployment of IT infrastructure elements, including Windows, Linux, and virtualized environments.

• Executes system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain optimal performance and security.

• Collaborates closely with the architecture team to design and deploy scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.

• Ensures compliance with architectural standards and best practices.

• Develops and executes backup and disaster recovery strategies to uphold data integrity and ensure business continuity.

• Utilizes PowerShell scripting for the automation of routine tasks and configuration management.

• Possesses knowledge of coding and scripting languages to facilitate infrastructure automation.

• Implements and oversees infrastructure leveraging IaC principles and tools like Terraform to automate deployment and configuration tasks.

• Engages in Agile workflow methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure efficient project execution.

• Establishes monitoring systems and tools to guarantee the performance, availability, and reliability of our IT infrastructure.

• Addresses IT infrastructure-related issues and provides prompt solutions to minimize downtime.

• Works in partnership with other IT teams and vendors to diagnose complex issues and execute solutions.

• Maintains precise documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.

• Produces regular reports on system performance, capacity, and security metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience required.

• 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a related role required.

• Proficient scripting skills in PowerShell required.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the capacity to assess complex technical challenges required.

• Ability to work autonomously and effectively prioritize tasks/projects in a fast-paced setting required.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work well in a team environment required.

• Experience with Azure cloud services, including setup, configuration, and management.

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, such as Intune (Endpoint Manager), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Endpoint Protection Manager (EPM), and the Microsoft stack in Azure.

• Familiarity with Veeam backup and replication solutions, including setup, configuration, and management.

• Experience with monitoring platforms like Datadog or Site24x7 is a plus.

• Experience with enterprise-level monitoring platforms (Datadog, Site24x7, etc.) preferred.

• Background in a healthcare environment preferred.

• Experience with server administration and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) preferred.

• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 services preferred.

• Knowledge of Terraform and DevOps practices preferred.

• Understanding of Agile workflow methodologies preferred.
