Information Security Engineer – Level 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contribute as part of a team dedicated to the technical analysis, guidance, consulting, and configuration of information security tools, operations, and projects.

• Support Information Security team members in assessing risks associated with identified issues or events.

• Evaluate the efficacy of security practices.

• Offer assistance in the remediation of vulnerabilities.

• Engage with vendors regarding the support of security products as necessary.

• Collaborate with and assist security operations center (SOC) analysts by providing direction.

• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

• Help with the proof-of-concepts or implementation of security tools under guidance.

• Review, analyze, and/or respond to phishing submissions and alerts with direction.

• Execute other related tasks and projects as needed.

• Engage in a completely remote working environment, including webcam participation and verbal or reaction-based engagement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a computer-related or information security-related field, or 1-3 years of equivalent work experience is required.

• Preference for candidates with Information Security-related certifications, education (courses), and/or project experience.

• Capability to comprehend and operate within various computing environments, including AWS Cloud and/or Microsoft Windows.

• Familiarity with basic network and application terminology, such as the OSI model.

• Fundamental understanding of common vulnerabilities.

• Commitment to AI fluency by adopting AI tools and technologies.

• Basic knowledge of database functionality.

• Basic problem-solving abilities related to computer issues.

• Preferred understanding of basic DevOps practices and/or Agile methodologies.

• Basic comprehension of Identity Access Management preferred.

• Ability to manage or engage with multiple assignments simultaneously.

• Basic coding and/or scripting skills in a preferred language.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a fully remote setting.
