Industrial Operations – Maintenance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough technical audits, field assessments, and evaluations of the condition of industrial equipment and facility components.

• Observe, test, assess, and document the performance of equipment and systems.

• Review material handling and conveyance systems against design specifications, operational requirements, and industry standards.

• Perform electrical data collection, including gathering arc flash information, identifying equipment, verifying nameplates, documenting electrical ratings, and system details.

• Evaluate electrical infrastructure and equipment operating at up to 480 volts.

• Assess industrial mechanical systems, their components, and operational processes.

• Examine CMMS records, maintenance histories, work orders, asset documentation, preventative maintenance programs, BAS control systems, and operational data.

• Interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, equipment documentation, inspection reports, certificates of occupancy, warranty details, and maintenance records.

• Engage with facility personnel, contractors, vendors, and clients to gather operational insights and confirm findings.

• Record field observations through notes, photographs, equipment data collection, and electronic reporting platforms.

• Produce comprehensive technical reports summarizing equipment conditions, deficiencies, trends, findings, and recommendations.

• Coordinate onsite activities with commissioning technicians, contractors, control vendors, and facility operations teams.

• Communicate technical insights, corrective actions, testing requirements, project updates, and potential issues.

• Maintain ongoing communication with Lead and Senior Project Managers regarding project status, site access, schedule impacts, risks, and concerns.

• Travel to client/project locations throughout the U.S. approximately 75% of the time, including the possibility of night shifts and weekend assignments.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• A technical degree, trade school diploma, vocational training, or associate degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.

• Journeyman credentials in mechanical or electrical disciplines are preferred.

• A minimum of five years of equipment maintenance or experience in commercial, institutional, and industrial building inspection is desired but not mandatory.

• Strong preference for experience in electrical, mechanical, controls, or material handling systems.

• A valid driver's license is required, with a clean driving record and no significant MVA points or violations.

• Industry-recognized certifications, active pursuit of certification, or equivalent professional credentials such as CxA, CCP, BCxP, CEM, NICET, NFPA-related certifications, or relevant active trade licensure.

• Previous certification as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) according to NFPA 70E and OSHA standards.

• Experience performing electrical work that necessitates arc flash PPE and adherence to electrical safety protocols.

• Familiarity with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures involving multiple energy systems.

• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting material handling equipment, including preventative maintenance practices.

• Knowledge of electrical infrastructure installation, maintenance, replacement, upgrades, and repairs up to 480 volts.

• Proficient in using CMMS systems for asset management, maintenance documentation, and work order tracking.

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

• Experience operating lifts and adhering to fall protection procedures is preferred.

• Understanding of OSHA safety standards, NFPA 70E requirements, LOTO procedures, PPE requirements, and electrical safety practices.

• Ability to comprehend and evaluate industrial electrical, mechanical, controls, and material handling systems.

• Capability to interpret technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

• Proficiency in operating computers, tablets, and electronic data collection tools.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Ability to work safely in industrial environments with energized equipment and mechanical systems.

• Capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with clients, contractors, facility personnel, and project teams.

• Ability to meet physical demands and travel requirements.

• Must possess a cell phone and provide your own internet service.

• Ability to travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train.

• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including night shifts and weekend assignments.
