This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct site visits at commercial and industrial locations to pinpoint energy-saving opportunities and gather necessary information for savings calculations.
• Propose actionable and implementable energy-efficiency measures for customer adoption.
• Calculate and report on energy and demand savings as well as reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, adhering to the California SEM M&V Guide.
• Author and review technical documents and publications, ensuring quality control.
• Oversee projects and maintain quality assurance.
• Keep clients and project teams updated on developments and required modifications.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to spearhead technical efforts supporting energy-efficiency programs.
• Evaluate Building Automation Systems both virtually and on-site to discover opportunities.
• Develop and validate energy savings calculation methodologies.
• Utilize IPMVP options for measurement and verification.
• Offer technical or strategic guidance to enhance energy-saving initiatives and propose innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with technical reviewers and evaluators to qualify custom projects and advocate for program savings.
• Address challenges involving clients, contractors, regulators, and governing bodies.
• Ensure client satisfaction while fostering new client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a preference for mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 8–10+ years of relevant experience in energy-efficiency consulting, program implementation, or consulting engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Certification in measurement and verification.
• Practical experience conducting energy audits and verification inspections independently.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and/or Retro-Commissioning (RCx).
• Exceptional technical and non-technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or other data visualization and analysis tools is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Strategic Energy Management is preferred.
• Must have authorization to work in the country where the position is located without employer sponsorship or support.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment checks.
