This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in active industrial design projects from the initial concept phase through to design refinement.
• Familiarize yourself with current project briefs, timelines, design choices, and outstanding action items.
• Develop sketches, renderings, CAD models, presentation materials, and prototypes.
• Enhance product form, ergonomics, usability, materials, colors, finishes, and intricate details.
• Prepare and maintain ID CAD, CMF plans, rating labels, and other ID documentation.
• Evaluate prototypes and samples, supporting usability and design validation efforts.
• Convert feedback and testing results into actionable design enhancements.
• Work collaboratively with product management, development, packaging, marketing, and operations teams.
• Engage in weekly design reviews, communicating recommendations, risks, and decisions.
• Monitor design deliverables, decisions, and follow-up actions.
• Ensure that products align with Satechi’s visual identity and quality standards.
• Provide comprehensive project documentation and an organized handoff upon completion of the assignment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related discipline.
• Approximately 2–4 years of professional experience in industrial design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing product development from initial concepts to final manufactured products.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD software.
• Proficiency in KeyShot and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience in creating physical prototypes and utilizing 3D printing technologies.
• Working knowledge of materials such as plastics and metals, along with CNC machining, injection molding, extrusion, and surface finishes.
• Ability to understand engineering constraints while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
• Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Capability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of both providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Experience in designing consumer technology products or accessories is preferred.
• Preferred experience in direct collaboration with overseas manufacturers and suppliers.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing, tolerance considerations, CMF development, and production sample review is preferred.
• Experience entering into an established design system and supporting ongoing projects is preferred.
• Candidates must submit a resume and portfolio that demonstrates relevant industrial design work and their specific contributions to each highlighted project.
• Temporary assignment anticipated to last approximately six months.
