This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, clarify, and strategize technical tasks based on clearly defined objectives, ensuring requirements are validated with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Formulate and oversee the implementation of testing strategies, execute the test plan, create test reports, and confirm adherence to requirements.
• Perform technical tasks independently, which may include supervising other resources technically.
• Work autonomously and self-sufficiently, requiring minimal oversight.
• Drive initiatives for improvement, review, and endorse technical solutions within current architectures.
• Mentor and cultivate the skills of less experienced team members.
• Collect and validate information to carry out root cause analysis for resolving issues with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Introduce new functionalities to control systems and modify existing solutions, including PLC and HMI.
• Record equipment configurations, system functionalities, features, and processes of the Industrial Controls team.
• Collaborate with Release Management to perform PLC and HMI updates for customers, whether on-site or remotely.
• Assist customers in addressing unexpected challenges.
• Lead the design process for a dedicated system.
• Contribute to and possibly lead initiatives for process improvement.
• Provide support to Production Sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficient knowledge of Power Systems for designing drive controls.
• Experience with AC/DC Drive Control Architecture.
• At least 5 years of experience in the Design & Implementation of Industrial Control Systems utilizing PLCs, HMIs, and Drives.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for Industrial Control Systems (Rockwell products preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in automated systems engineering.
• Advanced skills in programming Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, GuardLogix).
• Extensive knowledge of Industrial networks.
• Experience in developing and programming Human Machine Interfaces (Ignition 8, FactoryTalk ME/SE).
• Capable of understanding and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Strong expertise in troubleshooting complex automated systems.
• Familiarity with JIRA and agile methodology is advantageous.
• Experience in organizing teams and prioritizing tasks.
• Knowledge of Rockwell and Inductive Automation products is a plus.
• Willingness to travel approximately 40% to various customer locations within Canada and the United States.
