
Incident Response Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist in the incident response lifecycle from initial triage to thorough investigation, including containment and resolution.
• Conduct forensic analysis, apply incident response protocols, and assess malware as it emerges.
• Recognize attack vectors, threat tactics, and techniques utilized by attackers.
• Deliver both written and verbal reports to clients.
• Provide on-call support after hours as necessary, contingent on the investigation's demands.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of processes related to the incident response lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to improve detection capabilities based on indicators identified during incident response engagements.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a digital forensics and incident response position.
• Proven experience in conducting host- and/or network-based digital forensic investigations.
• Familiarity with malware analysis and the investigation of sophisticated cyber threats.
• Experience in probing ransomware incidents and other significant cybersecurity occurrences.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading Business Email Compromise (BEC) investigations.
• Awareness of emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and current security research trends.
• Ability to maintain composure, focus, and efficiency while handling high-pressure security incidents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
