
In-House Trial Attorney – San Antonio/Austin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Manages legal tasks for assigned cases.
• Diligently follows up on files assigned to Staff Counsel by the Claims Department.
• Develops and maintains a documented strategy for handling each assigned case, including an overview of intangible factors such as the judge, plaintiff attorney, and aggravating circumstances.
• Organizes and maintains document files that include pleadings, briefs, and memorandums.
• Prepares and delivers timely status updates to claims handlers regarding all significant activities as they occur, ensuring updates are provided at least every 60 days.
• Verifies that all files are accurately documented and systematically organized.
• Provides immediate and timely responses to all phone calls and correspondence.
• Utilizes and/or ensures the use of case management software for tracking notes, calendars, billing, and other essential tasks related to cases assigned to Staff Counsel, adhering to established Company operating guidelines and legal and ethical standards.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a trial attorney.
• Experience in handling insurance defense work is preferred.
• Active member of the State Bar, maintaining all required licenses and continuing education obligations.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
