In-House Translator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Convert client evidence into English for USCIS and Immigration Court submissions, including identification documents, birth and marriage certificates, police reports, medical records, threats, news articles, and witness statements.

• Create certified translations with accompanying certificates that comply with USCIS and EOIR minimum standards.

• Translate client declarations and communications from English to Spanish, and French if feasible.

• Adhere to PAL's translation standards for every case.

• Oversee translation assignments in Asana, prioritize tasks based on filing deadlines, and identify potential risks proactively.

• Work in conjunction with paralegals, legal assistants, and attorneys.

• Conduct quality checks on work prior to submission for U.S. government filings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in English and Spanish (C2 level), both written and spoken.

• Minimum of 2 years of professional translation experience, preferably with legal, official, or immigration documents.

• Exceptional writing, grammar, and formatting skills in both languages.

• Dependable internet connection and availability during U.S. Central Time business hours.

• Experience in translating documents for USCIS or Immigration Court (preferred, but not mandatory).

• Professional proficiency in French (preferred, but not mandatory).

• A degree or certification in translation, such as Traductor Público, ATA, or a university translation degree (preferred, but not mandatory).

• Familiarity with asylum terminology, Asana, and Google Workspace (preferred, but not mandatory).
