This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana.
• Act as the customer service representative connecting the company with its clients.
• Address customer inquiries related to billing, shipment tracking, and other concerns.
• Foster and nurture customer relationships.
• Handle Customs and Participating Government Agency entries to facilitate the clearance of goods entering the United States.
• Initiate files and log notes, information, and document requests in corporate systems.
• Examine commercial invoices and documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and carriers.
• Convert and verify shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency values.
• Dispatch information and document requests to employees, suppliers, service providers, and U.S. government agencies.
• Liaise with various offices, departments, and teams regarding customs brokerage matters.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. Government regulatory requirements, including those from the FDA, EPA, and USFWS.
• Coordinate shipping arrangements with forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and agents.
• Maintain communication with customers, carriers, and vendors throughout the process.
• Manage the coordination of shipments from airlines, ocean piers, and container freight stations to customer destinations.
• Organize pickups and maintain invoice files.
• Stay updated on current regulations, laws, guidelines, and company policies.
• Serve as a resource for both internal and external clients.
• Accurately and promptly manage accounting processes.
• Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and suggest process enhancements.
• Execute other assigned tasks as needed.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Mountain Standard Time.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, including one weekend day approximately every few weeks.
• Experience with client submission requirements and the clearance of specific commodities.
• Capability to process Customs and PGA entries for the clearance of goods into the United States.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as the FDA, EPA, and USFWS.
• Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
• Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle substantial workloads.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in problem-solving environments.
