ICAM Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in hands-on coding, scripting, and software development across various programming languages to facilitate ICAM modernization initiatives.

• Create, develop, test, and uphold automation scripts and pipelines that enhance ICAM processes, updates, and deployments.

• Utilize AI and machine learning techniques to improve ICAM functionalities, including anomaly detection, adaptive authentication, and identity analytics.

• Lead and participate in the planning of ICAM modernization, roadmap creation, and technical upgrade tasks in accordance with federal standards and best practices.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including security engineers, architects, and system administrators, to integrate ICAM solutions into current enterprise environments.

• Assess and implement industry best practices and emerging technologies related to identity management, access control, and zero trust architecture.

• Create and maintain technical documentation such as design documents, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Aid in the configuration and management of identity providers (IdPs), access management platforms, and directory services.

• Assist with testing and validation processes, including unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing of ICAM components.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members regarding ICAM concepts, AI tools, and automation frameworks.

• Interact with stakeholders daily to collect requirements, present solutions, and convey technical findings clearly and succinctly.

• Function within an Agile development environment while fulfilling government project milestones and deliverables.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Over 7 years of experience in Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) engineering, development, or architecture.

• At least 3 years of hands-on software development or scripting experience across various programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java).

• Proven experience in implementing or supporting ICAM modernization or upgrade projects in a government or enterprise setting.

• Excellent communication skills in English – both written and verbal – with the capability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proficient in hands-on software development and automation scripting across multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or Java).

• Comprehensive knowledge of ICAM frameworks, standards, and best practices, including NIST SP 800-63, FICAM, and Zero Trust Architecture principles.

• Experience utilizing AI/ML tools and techniques to enhance identity and access management processes, such as anomaly detection, behavioral analytics, or adaptive access control.

• Experience in designing and implementing automation pipelines to facilitate ICAM deployments, upgrades, and operational tasks.

• Familiarity with identity protocols and standards including SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SCIM, and LDAP.

• Experience with identity providers (IdPs) and access management solutions like Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, SailPoint, or similar.

• Experience with directory services, including Microsoft Active Directory and/or LDAP-based directories.

• Strong understanding of multi-factor authentication (MFA), privileged access management (PAM), and single sign-on (SSO) solutions.

• Ability to write, review, and maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.

• Familiarity with testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and system-level testing.

• Knowledge of Agile Development Methodology, particularly Scrum.
