This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the design, architecture, and execution of enterprise-level system integrations that connect customer platforms through EDI, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Act as the technical authority responsible for establishing architectural standards and guiding integration projects from initial concept to deployment.
• Design and architect EDI platforms at an enterprise level from inception, possessing extensive knowledge of all Sterling Integrator components.
• Develop and enhance intricate business processes utilizing BPML/BPML2 for orchestration and workflow automation.
• Create sophisticated EDI maps using Sterling Map Editor that adhere to X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS, and XML standards.
• Implement high-volume translation, enveloping/de-enveloping, and compliance validation processes.
• Configure and optimize Sterling Integrator services, adapters, code lists, and business processes.
• Carry out system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting using Sterling logs, message tracking, and monitoring tools.
• Design and implement secure B2B communication protocols including AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and OFTP2.
• Develop and design EDI integrations that support X12, EDIFACT, XML/EDI, and CICA standards.
• Construct REST and SOAP API integrations with proficiency in XML, JSON, XSLT, and XPath.
• Implement secure communication methods including TLS/SSL handshake configuration, PGP/GPG encryption, and certificate lifecycle management.
• Design any-to-any mapping solutions that connect various data formats and systems.
• Lead integration projects linking IBM Sterling with Oracle ERP and other enterprise applications.
• Develop EDI mapping solutions for Oracle with a thorough understanding of Oracle data structures and business processes.
• Design event-driven integrations that facilitate real-time data synchronization across platforms.
• Implement customer onboarding workflows and enable self-service capabilities.
• Support and maintain IBM Sterling Business Suite components such as Sterling B2B Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, Sterling Control Center, Sterling External Authentication Server, Sterling Secure Proxy, and Sterling Connect:Direct.
• Execute system administration tasks including user management, security configuration, and system monitoring.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization to guarantee high availability and scalability.
• Design cloud-based Sterling deployments on platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Lead EDI migration projects transitioning from on-premises to cloud environments.
• Implement cloud-native integration patterns and best practices.
• Optimize Sterling architecture for cloud scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish architectural standards and best practices for integration projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
• Conduct code reviews ensuring compliance with design patterns and coding standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to convert requirements into technical solutions.
• Document architectural decisions, integration patterns, and technical specifications.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of Sterling B2B Integrator issues utilizing logs, message tracking, and diagnostic tools.
• Resolve complex integration failures, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity challenges.
• Analyze network connections, ports, database configurations, and protocol-specific issues.
• Provide production support and incident resolution for critical integration workflows.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 8+ years of hands-on technical experience with the IBM Sterling software suite is mandatory.
• Demonstrated success in architecting and implementing enterprise-level EDI platforms from the ground up.
• Extensive experience with the deployment architecture, design, and development of IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
• Prior experience in leading EDI migration projects is essential.
• Experience integrating with Oracle ERP systems is highly desirable.
• Background in supporting EAI and B2B integration tools is required.
• Expert-level development and architecture proficiency in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SBI).
• Advanced Business Process Modeling experience using BPML/BPML2 for design, orchestration, and optimization.
• Complex EDI map development experience using Sterling Map Editor supporting X12, EDIFACT, and TRADACOMS.
• High-volume translation, enveloping/de-enveloping, and compliance validation expertise.
• Mastery of B2B communication protocols: AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and OFTP2.
• Advanced knowledge of EDI standards: X12, EDIFACT, XML/EDI, and CICA.
• Strong integration experience with REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, XSLT, and XPath.
• Expertise in secure communications including TLS/SSL handshake troubleshooting, PGP/GPG encryption, and certificate lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in any-to-any mapping capabilities across diverse data formats and systems.
• Technical skills include a deep understanding of network connections, ports, and database concepts.
• Clear knowledge of communication protocols such as HTTPS, SFTP, FTP/S, and AS2.
• Experience with IBM Sterling Business Suite components (B2B Integrator, File Gateway, Control Center, External Authentication Server, Secure Proxy, Connect:Direct).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) along with an understanding of cloud hosting concepts.
• Strong SQL and database management skills are essential.
