This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Align business goals with HR support and collaborate with Operations, Finance, IT, and Marketing.
• Provide assistance to both hourly and management team members in areas such as hiring, employee relations, training, safety, staffing, compliance, payroll, diversity and inclusion, and personnel research.
• Comprehend business strategies, pinpoint opportunities, and propose HR methods, policies, and procedures.
• Analyze HR and business metrics to uncover trends, address challenges, and drive change.
• Offer coaching on change management, team effectiveness, and leadership development.
• Manage daily HR operations, encompassing employee relations, unemployment, workers’ compensation, and policy compliance.
• Collaborate with restaurant management and the Executive Team on HR challenges, policy compliance, and communications.
• Investigate employee relations issues and suggest corrective measures.
• Counsel management regarding coaching, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and termination processes.
• Research local, state, and federal regulations and recommend updates to policies or procedures.
• Oversee workers’ compensation and return-to-work processes.
• Facilitate accommodation requests and manage the interactive process.
• Recruit employees for store-level and management positions.
• Process payroll using Paylocity.
• Gather, analyze, and share HR data and reports.
• Conduct and document exit interviews and evaluate trends.
• Perform payroll and HRIS data entry tasks.
• Deliver in-person and remote training on diversity, inclusion, harassment prevention, and other relevant topics.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• At least 5 years of experience in addressing complex employee relations matters is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in strategic partnership is required.
• At least 2 years of recruiting experience is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or a Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Solid understanding of compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, staffing, and federal and state employment laws.
• Proficiency in using an HRIS system is required.
• Experience supporting a multi-unit operation remotely is required; multi-state experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge and prior experience with California employment law and employee relations is required.
• Must be available to work California hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT.
• Must be fluent in Spanish.
• Ability to travel to the Bay Area six times a year for 1 to 2 weeks at a time.
