
Human Resources Assistant – 6-Month Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Assistant will be instrumental in providing support to employees and ensuring that HR programs operate smoothly.
• You will engage in full-cycle recruitment, pre-boarding and onboarding processes, employee communications, documentation, engagement initiatives, and overall HR coordination.
• This role is ideal for an individual who appreciates variety, takes pride in delivering an exceptional experience for others, and can maintain a balance between accuracy, warmth, and professionalism.
• You will collaborate closely with hiring managers, employees, internal teams, and external partners to ensure that people processes are organized, timely, and easily navigable.
• Oversee full-cycle recruitment for designated roles, including intake sessions, job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, candidate communication, offer support, and transitioning to onboarding.
• Work alongside hiring managers to comprehend hiring needs and assist in creating a thoughtful, timely, and positive recruitment journey.
• Facilitate pre-boarding and onboarding to ensure that new employees feel welcomed, informed, and prepared for their first day.
• Accurately prepare and maintain HR documentation, employee letters, records, and system updates with confidentiality in mind.
• Assist employees with general HR inquiries and guide them toward the appropriate resources or next steps.
• Support initiatives related to employee engagement, wellness, recognition, volunteering, and company events that foster a strong culture and connection.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the smooth operation of HR programs, events, and employee initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by simplifying processes, enhancing communications, and keeping HR tools and trackers organized.
• Experience in human resources, recruitment coordination, administration, people operations, or a related support role.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and details simultaneously.
• A professional and approachable communication style combined with a genuine interest in supporting employees and candidates.
• Sound judgment and discretion, along with comfort in handling confidential information.
• A proactive mindset that allows for follow-through, thoughtful questioning, and improvements in workflows.
• Proficiency in using HR systems, Microsoft Office, collaboration tools, and digital trackers to maintain organization.
• A collaborative demeanor and readiness to support a diverse array of HR, culture, and employee experience initiatives.
• Must hold a valid work permit or be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada.
