Human Resource Specialist – Staffing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Execute complex federal staffing and classification actions independently to meet Agency workforce needs.

• Offer expertise and guidance on federal staffing regulations, job analysis, position classification standards, qualification criteria, and workforce planning processes.

• Create vacancy announcements, conduct job analyses, evaluate applicant qualifications, adjudicate veterans’ preference, issue certificates, manage selection processes, and coordinate onboarding.

• Carry out position classification activities to ensure that recruited positions accurately reflect the associated duties and responsibilities, pay plans, and series, while adhering to OPM classification standards.

• Assist with suitability and credentialing efforts by preparing and coordinating necessary documentation and case materials.

• Possess knowledge of Federal Pay Setting.

• Experience in advising on and utilizing Special Appointing Authorities.

• Proven ability to appropriately apply Veterans’ Preference, ICTAP, CTAP, Reemployment Priority List, and Priority Consideration entitlements.

• Demonstrated experience in processing both competitive and non-competitive Personnel Actions.

• Familiarity with USAStaffing/USAJOBS, Human Resource Service Delivery System, and Microsoft Office.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Over 12 years of relevant experience.

• Expert-level knowledge and experience in human resources practices and principles, particularly related to Federal Staffing and Classification.

• Advanced skills in using systems that support Federal Staffing and Classification.

• Proficient in a dynamic, collaborative work environment that may require both remote and onsite presence based on Government Customer requirements.

• Ability to thrive in both team settings and independently, while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
