This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the administrative and operational foundation of the People and HR division.
• Take full responsibility for Clasp’s employee benefits program from start to finish, which includes analysis, benchmarking, recommendations, implementation, renewals, open enrollment, employee education, and enrollment assistance.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and carriers.
• Track plan utilization, cost trends, employee satisfaction, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the daily PEO relationship, currently with Justworks, and manage HRIS administration and data integrity.
• Review the current PEO/HRIS configuration and assess whether Clasp should continue on a PEO model or shift to alternative HR infrastructure by 2027.
• Manage onboarding processes, which include I-9 verification, background checks, new-hire documentation, and system provisioning.
• Handle offboarding processes, including the collection of documentation, equipment return, and system deactivation.
• Supervise 401(k) match and equity data updates in Carta, ensuring accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and cap-table systems.
• Evaluate existing HR processes and design, implement, and document scalable procedures.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance and automate HR administrative workflows, including through the use of AI tools.
• Manage leave-of-absence requests and processes, including FMLA and state PFMLA programs.
• Address unemployment claims and tax-related audits or inquiries.
• Maintain the employee handbook and collaborate with Compliance and Security on reviews, updates, and audit responses.
• Stay informed about and communicate state-by-state HR regulatory changes.
• Process employment verification and reference-check requests.
• Act as the main point of contact for HR compliance audits and regulatory inquiries.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with substantial responsibility in benefits administration and PEO/HRIS management.
• Hands-on experience in managing a PEO relationship; experience with Justworks is highly desirable.
• Background in evaluating HR infrastructure options.
• Strong expertise in benefits administration, including plan design and evaluation, renewals, open enrollment, and vendor/broker management.
• Familiarity with federal and state leave laws, including FMLA and PFMLA, and multi-state employment compliance.
• Experience overseeing administrative onboarding and offboarding, including I-9 and background check compliance.
• Competence in auditing and restructuring HR workflows and documentation.
• Ability to function as the primary owner of HR operations in a streamlined, fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication and vendor/stakeholder management skills.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification is advantageous.
• Open to remote candidates located in the Eastern Time or Central Time zones only.
