This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Lead the implementation and ongoing oversight of performance feedback cycles, which includes developing the process, managing all communications, tracking progress, and facilitating follow-ups.

β’ Collaborate with team managers to establish systems that ensure team development is both consistent and effective, enabling managers to lead performance discussions confidently.
β’ Enhance employee engagement by recognizing patterns, uncovering root causes, and proactively suggesting improvements to team dynamics.
β’ Act as a trusted and confidential resource for employee relations matters by listening empathetically, gathering facts, conducting investigations professionally, and guiding all involved parties toward constructive and amicable solutions.
β’ Ensure that all HR practices and policies comply with federal and state laws, including adherence to multi-state employee and contractor regulations.
β’ Oversee performance management processes as both a compliance and development tool, ensuring that documentation and practices align with legal standards.
β’ Approach HR issues with poise and sound judgment, acting as a stabilizing force during challenging situations.
β’ Maintain and enhance HR processes and records to ensure they are accurate, well-organized, and compliant, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of HR experience that includes both traditional HR and people operations roles.
β’ Proven expertise in employee relations: tactful, an attentive listener, respectful of confidentiality, and adept at de-escalating situations while identifying root causes.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of HR legal compliance across various U.S. states, including employee and contractor classification.
β’ A systems thinker: adept at building processes and frameworks instead of making reactive, isolated decisions. You employ first-principles thinking to address the root of performance challenges and design for long-term impact.
β’ Demonstrated capability to manage a project from inception through design, communication, implementation, and follow-up.
β’ Strong crisis management skills: able to remain calm under pressure and guide an organization through HR challenges in a compliant and professional manner.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail coupled with robust organizational skills.
β’ Comfortable working independently in a part-time, remote, contract role.
