This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist serves as a reliable HR business partner, tasked with providing a wide array of operational and strategic human resources services for the Silvertip operation.

• Operating in a remote rotational mining environment, the HR Generalist collaborates with site leaders and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle, which includes recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, compensation, employee engagement, and HR compliance.

• Offer guidance and support to employees and leaders on matters related to employee relations, performance management, attendance management, disability management, accommodations, as well as HR policies and programs.

• Create workplace practices that establish Coeur as an employer of choice.

• Ensure adherence to all relevant federal and provincial employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.

• Oversee and facilitate the employee onboarding process, guaranteeing a positive and engaging experience for new hires from the time of offer acceptance through their integration into the company.

• Ensure that policies, procedures, and programs are effectively communicated and consistently implemented throughout the operation.

• Educate leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, legislation, and company standards.

• Manage employee benefit programs and act as a liaison with benefit providers to assist with employee inquiries and program administration.

• Coordinate and analyze exit interviews, identifying trends and suggesting areas for improvement.

• Provide guidance and resolution on employee relations issues, including workplace concerns, performance matters, complaints, and policy interpretation.

• Conduct or assist with workplace investigations, documenting findings and recommending suitable actions.

• Mentor supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance management, policy interpretation, and leadership best practices.

• Assist with disability management, accommodations, and return-to-work programs.

• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities for hourly, salaried, professional, and technical roles, including candidate screening, interviews, pre-employment requirements, medical exams, travel coordination, and onboarding.

• Develop and sustain talent pipelines to meet current and future workforce needs.

• Engage in career fairs, community outreach initiatives, and recruitment activities to enhance the Company's employment brand.

• Support workforce planning initiatives that align with operational requirements and future operational readiness.

• Assist with organizational design tasks, including position descriptions, organizational structures, and workforce planning.

• Keep job descriptions and organizational charts up to date.

• Propose and recommend enhancements to HR procedures and processes that boost operational effectiveness and improve employee experience.

• Promote employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and leadership development initiatives.

• Plan and coordinate HR-related meetings, training sessions, and employee events as necessary.

• Aid in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives related to the transition from care and maintenance to operational readiness and future operations.

• Participate in cross-functional operational readiness initiatives, such as workforce mobilization, HR process development, and organizational planning.

• Cultivate a workplace culture that reflects Coeur's Values, safety culture, and dedication to continuous improvement.

• Uphold strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee information.

• Complete additional duties, special projects, and assignments as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

• CPHR designation or working towards it is viewed as an asset.

• At least 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist role, ideally within mining, construction, heavy industry, or other industrial environments.

• Proven experience in supporting leaders throughout the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, organizational development, and employee engagement.

• Experience in conducting or assisting with workplace investigations and providing advice on employee relations issues.

• Strong understanding of employment legislation, human rights legislation, and HR best practices, with practical experience in applying them within a business context.

• Experience in supporting organizational change, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives is considered beneficial.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); experience with SuccessFactors or similar HRIS is advantageous.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities, with the capacity to influence and establish credibility with leaders and employees at all levels.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively to a collaborative team.

• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel and work on a rotational schedule at a remote mining camp.
