This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
β’ Act as an HR liaison for designated clients, offering responsive and thoughtful assistance.
β’ Address employee relations inquiries, interpret policies, and provide general HR compliance support, including management of leave and accommodation processes across various states.
β’ Participate in client meetings to deliver updates, follow up on action items, and manage documentation.
β’ Utilize internal platforms such as ClickUp, Clockify, and Slack to monitor your workload and share updates.
β’ Take ownership of and drive the execution of HR deliverables such as employee handbooks, policies, onboarding/offboarding toolkits, and performance frameworks, ensuring the work is of high quality and human-centered throughout.
β’ Independently draft and refine deliverables, escalating only strategic or unfamiliar matters.
β’ Employ an equity-informed perspective in all content creation.
β’ Monitor timelines, milestones, and deliverables through ClickUp.
β’ Update task statuses on a daily basis, identifying bottlenecks or concerns regarding retention/utilization early to the Client Lead or CAM, and ensure all collaborators remain aligned.
β’ Work with the Client Account Manager (CAM) for inquiries related to scope and meeting arrangements.
β’ Delegate formatting, research, or administrative tasks to Project Support as necessary.
β’ Assign subtasks to Project Support or Client Lead when needed to advance work initiatives.
β’ Draft and enhance internal SOPs and processes as our internal systems evolve.
β’ Provide feedback and insights on internal People practices as we grow, aiding us in practicing what we advise.
β’ Attend monthly team meetings.
β’ Over 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (preferably within nonprofits or clients aligned with similar values).
β’ A commitment to social justice and an equity-informed mindset.
β’ Practical experience in managing leave and accommodation processes across multiple states, with particular knowledge of regulations in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Oregon.
β’ Proven experience leading HR projects such as policy development, audits, or onboarding/offboarding systems.
β’ Experience overseeing the complete delivery of HR projects, including client communication, timeline oversight, and task coordination.
β’ Familiarity with compliance areas such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and wage & hour laws.
β’ Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.
β’ Proficient in (or eager to learn) ClickUp, Slack, and Google Suite.
β’ Strong organizational skills and the capability to work autonomously.
β’ Able to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
β’ Comfortable using remote working tools including ClickUp, Slack, and Google Suite, ensuring tasks and communications are updated daily.
β’ A proven track record of developing processes or documentation that can be utilized by others, rather than relying solely on personal knowledge.
