HR Business Partner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Client Partnership: Collaborate with commercial client groups — including managers and employees from Sales, Customer Success, Service, Commercial Operations, Partnerships, and Business Development — serving as a trusted advisor throughout the entire employee lifecycle: enhancing team effectiveness, coaching managers, designing organizational structures, planning workforce needs, and facilitating action planning from engagement surveys.

• Employee Relations: Assist with employee relations casework in both the Philippines and the US — addressing performance improvement plans (PIPs), policy breaches, and conflict resolution — by working with managers to ensure consistent documentation and mitigate legal risks; exercise sound judgment regarding escalation.

• Change Management: Guide managers and teams through organizational transformations, fostering clarity and alignment during periods of transition.

• Operational Excellence: Facilitate the implementation of HR programs — including performance cycles, calibrations, and insights from engagement surveys — customized to meet Thumbtack's requirements.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Examine people data to uncover trends and convert insights into actionable recommendations for managers and leaders.

• Culture and Employee Advocacy: Promote Thumbtack's culture and values within your client groups, exemplifying these principles through your actions.

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Recruiting, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Organizational Development (OD), and Total Rewards to deliver integrated People strategies to your client groups.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in HR, specifically in HR Business Partner roles.

• Availability to work during North American business hours (PST Preferred).

• Excellent communication skills with the discernment necessary to build trust and engage in challenging discussions.

• Experience supporting high-volume frontline or commercial teams (e.g., Sales, Success, Customer Service, Business Development, Commercial Operations) in fast-paced, dynamic settings.

• Strong understanding of performance management (including formal documentation such as PIPs and NTEs), employee relations, and change management.

• Comfort in supporting employees across various geographical locations, including the Philippines.

• Proficient in data analysis — able to interpret people data and translate insights into strategic recommendations.

• Previous experience in remote or virtual-first work environments.

• Background in fast-paced, scaling organizations.

• Experience in technology companies or marketplaces.

• Background in communications.
