This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with business leaders across various functions on workforce planning, organizational structure, talent evaluation, succession planning, and capability enhancement.
• Provide guidance to leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, role clarity, HR policies, and team configurations.
• Present people-related business insights and trends to aid decision-making and reduce legal and financial risks.
• Participate in national HR projects and cross-functional initiatives as a member of the Canada HR Team.
• Assist in fostering company culture initiatives and managing organizational changes.
• Address intricate, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations issues through investigations and facilitated resolutions.
• Review, investigate, and document internal complaints; compile findings and communicate results.
• Coordinate with legal counsel and regulatory agencies on both internal and external legal matters.
• Assist with immigration issues, including work authorization, LMIA, and RCIP programs.
• Offer guidance on compensation and benefits while addressing employee inquiries.
• Evaluate promotion, demotion, and salary change requests and obtain exception approvals.
• Analyze and categorize positions to establish appropriate pay scales.
• Oversee HR administrative functions.
• Facilitate succession planning, talent reviews, readiness assessments, gap identification, and development initiatives.
• Partner with leaders on performance management and accountability.
• Coach and mentor members of the leadership team.
• Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to create, enhance, and implement HR programs.
• Support corporate and market-specific HR initiatives and change programs.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR services, processes, and tools.
• Guide employees through transitions such as layoffs, mergers, technology adoption, and other organizational changes.
• Ensure that onboarding and separation documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
• Assist with transfers, promotions, demotions, and terminations.
• Continuously refine and enhance the onboarding process.
• Provide advice on involuntary terminations to minimize legal risks.
• Bachelor's degree (4-year program).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in one or more areas of Human Resources, with a preference for Generalist roles.
• CPHR certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Teams.
• Experience using Workday HRIS.
• Strong skills in facilitation, project management, and negotiation.
• Ability to adapt to evolving business environments and work effectively in virtual, remote, and hybrid settings.
• Excellent communication, project management, conflict resolution, coaching, and consultative abilities.
• High emotional intelligence and commitment to confidentiality.
• Capacity to influence others, think strategically, and drive improvements.
• Comprehensive understanding of HR policies, practices, and procedures.
• Solid understanding of the legal framework and relevant provincial and federal employment laws.
• Willingness to travel across geographic areas of responsibility and potentially to the area store support center when necessary and authorized.
